Our developmental paediatricians and general paediatricians with extensive developmental paediatric experience work alongside child psychologists and speech pathologists to provide comprehensive assessment and ongoing care for children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, learning difficulties, speech and language delay, and other general paediatric concerns.

Developmental and behavioural conditions are often complex and may require input from multiple healthcare professionals. Effective communication and collaboration between families, healthcare providers, educators, and therapists are important to achieve the best outcomes for your child.

At Sydney Child Development Specialists, our developmental paediatricians, psychologists, and speech pathologists work together to provide coordinated care, helping children and adolescents reach their full potential.

We focus on providing comprehensive assessment and therapy for:

Our clinic provides comprehensive assessment and ongoing management for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our child development paediatric team with extensive experience in ADHD assessment and ongoing management offer the following services:

1. Initial Assessment & Diagnosis

We provide two types of ADHD assessment services:

a. Multidisciplinary Joint Assessments

These are joint assessments involving both a paediatrician (experienced in developmental paediatrics) and a child psychologist. This pathway provides a comprehensive evaluation of a child’s developmental, behavioural, and cognitive profile. Depending on clinical need, cognitive testing and/or academic assessments may be required

b. Individual assessments

An individual assessment pathway is available for families who prefer to see a single clinician. This assessment may be completed by:

    • developmental paediatrician
    • general paediatrician with extensive experience in ADHD
    • child psychologist

As ADHD presentations can be complex, all initial assessments require two or more appointments. Additionally, if clinically required, a child psychologist may be required to perform cognitive testing and/or academic assessment.

2. Ongoing management

For children with an existing ADHD diagnosis, our paediatricians can provide ongoing review and management. This includes:

  • Prescribing and reviewing medication where clinically appropriate
  • Monitoring symptoms and functional progress

Our aim is to help each child thrive at home, at school, and in the community through consistent, evidence‑based care.

Our clinic provides comprehensive assessment and ongoing management for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our child development paediatric team with extensive experience in ADHD assessment and ongoing management offer the following services:
