Dr Elise Lai FRACP – Paediatrician
Dr Elise Lai is a Consultant Paediatrician at SCDS and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. She completed her paediatric training with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network – Westmead. Elise holds a medical degree from the University of Newcastle and a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney. She is currently completing a Master of Public Health (MPH), further strengthening her expertise in population health and evidence-based practice.
With more than seven years of paediatric experience across New South Wales, Dr Lai has worked in a wide range of clinical settings. Her training included time at a tertiary developmental assessment centre at Westmead, where she gained specialised skills in evaluating and supporting children with developmental and behavioural concerns.
Throughout her career, Dr Lai has developed a strong interest in child development, recognising the the critical role early developmental experiences have in shaping one’s overall health outcome and wellbeing. She is passionate about helping children reach their full potential by identifying developmental challenges early and providing tailored support.
Dr Lai is committed to delivering high-quality, family-centred care. She understands that every child is unique, with their own strengths and challenges, and works closely with families to provide thorough assessments, clear communication, and evidence-based management plans.
